In 2007, Charlie Souza is currently touring with the New Rascals and is a former Tom Petty bass player, vocalist, writer, producer and New Tropics band leader in the business four decades.Has had songs released on Columbia, Atlantic, Polydor,Fantasy Records, Laurie Records in New York and Los Angeles. Now on Phoenix Records in Europe and now independant Souzaphone Records, Escape Music LTD in England and Retrospect Records in the U.S.. Souza Performed, collaborated and recorded with Tom Petty, Greg Allman, Cactus with Bobby Caldwell, Buddy Pendergrass' White Witch, Gale Force, Fred Willard, Fortress with Eric Turner and Donny Vosburg in Los Angeles, and Darrell Mansfield. In the new millennium, teamed up with ex-Robin Trower & Sly & The Family Stone drummer Bill Lordan, and Eric Turner on "Live Your Dream" & "9 Ball in the Corner Pocket" CDs recorded in Los Angeles. Bass player and showman from The Tropics, Floridas number one show band in the 60's, Currently, Charlie's new band, "The New Tropics" have recorded a new CD in Tampa Bay area recording studios including Big 3 Recording Studios in St. Petersburg. Charlie moved back home to Tampa/St. Pete in 2002 after almost 30 years in California.
